Was invited by Ellen Woon to attend dance performance at TAS. Her daughter is also performing as the witches witch. Truely enjoy the professionally choregraphed performance.

           

Singapore movie at Taiwan Golden Horse Award, November 17, 2019

 

Heard this event will be last public event organized by Simon Wong, SG trade Rep in Taiwan.
Simon said, his next posting will be India at New Delhi as Tamil language will be his challenge.

This SG movie “Wet Season” will be competing at Year 2029 Taiwan Holden Award. As Simon said, 6 包粽 and hope Durian smell will be floating in Taiwan soon.

THULE CONFERENCE @ KLCC MALAYSIA 2019

THULE Year 2019 ART meeting held in Kuala Lumpur from September 24 to 27.  A hazy day due to Indonesia forest burning. THULE presenting it future view about TBP good prospect in the future to come. The hotel (Oriental) we stay is good and just beside KLCC, where THULE hold its fashion show for bags product. Below photo shot at KLCC. 

We went for outing at Batu Cave and KL cultural tours (icecream shop at old street and traditional hawker foods).

That gentleman standing in he middel is Alex's brother. Who is an actor and famous in Malaysia, who watches cantonese drama.

Father anniversary August 2019

Jenny and myself travel this time by SQ which has offer ticket price. It has been quite a while since the last time we travel with SIA. The Aeroplane is new and has some new gadgets to get-to-know. Being sitted on the window seat and starts looking to lift up the window shade to block the sunlight. It was changed to a Day/Night button. While it need some adaptation as the Blue screen come out ina delay mood. Be patience.

Wonder why the HagenDas icecream is only offered one-way from TPE-SIN.  No icecream the other way round.

Second Auntie comes along for the prayer session at Mandai. Yes, she is getting older and really appreciate her coming over to Mandai. BTW, she got lost in the MRT by taking the wrong direction.

Adapt to modern way of life - machine Ordering

Trying to adapt to self-service ordering kiosk way of ordering meal for myself. Chance upon a Macdonald store with no queue line. Spent quite a while figuring kiosk’s various functions. First, it doesn’t accept paper money. Manage to get my meal. In fact, the kiosk operation is quite straight forward.  Noted: banana was brought at RT mart opposite Macdonald@Nehu.

瘦仔林 San San Lim Laksa @ Taipei City

Jane invites us to meet up at little red dot. But l suggest going to this new restaurant along 市民大道 "San San Lim Laksa". Attendance:- Jane Melissa, Janny Koh, Myself and Jenny.

I offer to pickup both the "J" lady from where I parking my car.

Jane said she will be resettling at TaiNan city starting from July 2019. We wish her well in changing a new environment. However, was surprised to hear her saying, Taipei is a Cramp in some way. But agreed people in the south are inviting and very warm. 

May be, we will organize a gang to visit her when "the time" is ready and comfortably settled down.

All have a happy time sitting at the bar eating our favourite dishes. Foods was nice and everyone enjoy the chit-chat session.

Makan Meet #5 @ Little Red Dot, Taipei City.

A great gathering event, meeting fellow Singaporeans/PRs residing in Taipei area. A total of 29pax came for the makan session, including Old, Young and baby. Happy for Wai Onn upon hearing he is leaving Taiwan and going home Singapore for good. 

We have a wonderful with lots of laughters and indid very nosiy crowd. Thanks HAN the chef for the special Hokkien Mee and Gado Gado, on popular demand. My first time having the above mentioned 2 dishes in Taiwan. Also surprised to meet the most senior resident Linea, who has lives in Taiwan for last 46 years.

Singapore short film screening in Taipei city 2019/4/2.

The flim's topics are more wide range, the idea is to sell movie in international market that others can understand. Surprisingly, all spoke in good mardarin. Not much ascent as compared Jack Neo movie.

From left, first shor film is totally shot in Taipei city, very cultured film to understand and not much dialogue indid. Guest can only remember the RED and Transparent umbrella. Q&A session suspect its sponsored by SingTel....hahaha.

Second film is more interesting about a Armed security company van breakdown and emotion running high, work stress and family stress in English. Actor include one Indian LCP security driver and Chinese lady of inspector rank. LCP went AWOL rushing to see her wife giving birth and she missed picking up the daughter from school. STRESSED.

Third film is more interesting and l like it. It’s about the director mother's experience working in basd on expericnce at Seng song market. How cashless payment is making cashier obselete and out of job. Their protest story and commanderaship.

Fourth film is writing about the director’s story on friendship during her secondary school years. Quite refreshing about school days. Good mardarin spoken by two children actresses.

Extreme right film is sponsored by Temasek, who stated the theme of the film must be post-year 2020. It discussed the issue about future legislation law on legal clearing people's mind memory, getting ride of sucidal records. Interesting script for a low budget produced by a young director .

Small sponsored budget between S$15k to S$25k. Some of the young directors had to fork out there saving to complete the shoot. Most helping workers didn’t even get paid.

Without government support, it will be difficult. The SG trade office must have spend lots of time, efforts, budget to help film to attend the Taiwan 金馬獎 for the last few years .

Singapore Rustic Coast, it will run from Changi to Lim Chu Kang.

To the north, a 50km belt of parks, beaches and nature attractions will line the northern coast.

Called the Rustic Coast, it will run from Changi to Lim Chu Kang. Visitors will get to see places of military and industrial heritage such as the area formerly occupied by the RAF Seletar, and nature reserves teeming with biodiversity like the Kranji Marshes and Mandai Mangrove and Mudflats. URA is also exploring recreational options in Kranji, specifically at the Singapore Racecourse, and assessing if it can be turned into a family-friendly and communal spot.

Went morning excerise with Hwei and GM at Bukit Batok park.
Thereafter, went Jurong East hawker centre for Breakfast.
Reach Airport before 10pm for early morning flight.
Pickup the 7D mango titbit for Jenny. Kaya is not possible.

Chinese New Year 2019 , meeting old friends

This year there is no house visiting during father first year. Very happy that good old friends can catch up and talk over again the good old memories during our younger years.

Lay Hoon inital the invitation for walking at CCK park at 8.15am is a good sign.

Also join Hwei and GM at their weekly excerise at Bukit Batok park.

Which is excellent stretching excerise. Left hand seem to be less painful and more mobile.

o  Was told first auntie has an accident with the MRT car.
o  Three uncle might have some difficult in walking.
o  Fourth unlce and family visit us, which is very touching.
o  Fifth uncle broke his leg while playing golfing.
o  Eight uncle away aboard for holiday.
o  Father sister, first auntie has been moved Nursing home near CCK.
o  Did called second auntie that we are not able to visit her.
o  Third and son did visit our family, which is good.
o  Bok Xing and wife came over to visit us too.
