Singapore short film screening in Taipei city 2019/4/2.

The flim's topics are more wide range, the idea is to sell movie in international market that others can understand. Surprisingly, all spoke in good mardarin. Not much ascent as compared Jack Neo movie.

From left, first shor film is totally shot in Taipei city, very cultured film to understand and not much dialogue indid. Guest can only remember the RED and Transparent umbrella. Q&A session suspect its sponsored by SingTel....hahaha.

Second film is more interesting about a Armed security company van breakdown and emotion running high, work stress and family stress in English. Actor include one Indian LCP security driver and Chinese lady of inspector rank. LCP went AWOL rushing to see her wife giving birth and she missed picking up the daughter from school. STRESSED.

Third film is more interesting and l like it. It’s about the director mother's experience working in basd on expericnce at Seng song market. How cashless payment is making cashier obselete and out of job. Their protest story and commanderaship.

Fourth film is writing about the director’s story on friendship during her secondary school years. Quite refreshing about school days. Good mardarin spoken by two children actresses.

Extreme right film is sponsored by Temasek, who stated the theme of the film must be post-year 2020. It discussed the issue about future legislation law on legal clearing people's mind memory, getting ride of sucidal records. Interesting script for a low budget produced by a young director .

Small sponsored budget between S$15k to S$25k. Some of the young directors had to fork out there saving to complete the shoot. Most helping workers didn’t even get paid.

Without government support, it will be difficult. The SG trade office must have spend lots of time, efforts, budget to help film to attend the Taiwan 金馬獎 for the last few years .

Singapore Rustic Coast, it will run from Changi to Lim Chu Kang.

To the north, a 50km belt of parks, beaches and nature attractions will line the northern coast.

Called the Rustic Coast, it will run from Changi to Lim Chu Kang. Visitors will get to see places of military and industrial heritage such as the area formerly occupied by the RAF Seletar, and nature reserves teeming with biodiversity like the Kranji Marshes and Mandai Mangrove and Mudflats. URA is also exploring recreational options in Kranji, specifically at the Singapore Racecourse, and assessing if it can be turned into a family-friendly and communal spot.

Went morning excerise with Hwei and GM at Bukit Batok park.
Thereafter, went Jurong East hawker centre for Breakfast.
Reach Airport before 10pm for early morning flight.
Pickup the 7D mango titbit for Jenny. Kaya is not possible.

This year there is no house visiting during father first year. Very happy that good old friends can catch up and talk over again the good old memories during our younger years.

Lay Hoon inital the invitation for walking at CCK park at 8.15am is a good sign.

Also join Hwei and GM at their weekly excerise at Bukit Batok park.

Which is excellent stretching excerise. Left hand seem to be less painful and more mobile.

o  Did called second auntie that we are not able to visit her.
o  Third and son did visit our family, which is good.
o  Bok Xing and wife came over to visit us too.

Managed to met Dick and Megan for Friday dinner at Sawadika Thai fusion restaurant. Megan favourite dish is the HoFun Omelette and it seem its also Dick and Mine best dish too. We ends with the complimentary durian ice-cream, which was a surprise for all.

Jenny joined us for the Saturday day trip to northern coast line. First visting the Alpaca cafe and then we proceed to a tourist destination of TamShui. I must said the place has changed and very popular with tourist. The sunset is just engrusing for all, we just sit down and wait for Sun to set in the west.

'A Land Imagined 幻土' by Director Chris Yeo Siew Hua from Singapore

Get further insight about the making of the film. Which tells Singapore land mass increased by 25% after many years of  land reclamation. Most importantly the contribution from foreign workers who make the construction possible. Guess most Singaporean do not visit the most western part of SG where workers stays. Director has taken the task of visiting workers quarter  to understand them better. Thanks trade office for the invitation and not forgetting the door gift.  

 

A wide spread of Singaporean cake and desert. It take a great effort to made the event attractive for the film critic to attend.

 

Very nice of the Trade Office to arranged sponsorhip door gift - Famous food invention from Singapore "Salted Fish Skin".

 

Have a small chat with regular SGean, Suzanne and Michelin and also Yee Tien who has make the event possible. A heavy task of putting the cinema booking, Director and Actress appearing in Taipei to answer film critics questions. Very thoughtful to have sponsorship of door gift and even a mini cooktail on site. I tired the Padan cake, taste like home!
