New places @ Singapore

Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore

SINGAPORE: Singapore's second cruise terminal, the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore, is expected to generate some 3,000 jobs in the tourism sector when it's fully operational.

The terminal is operated by SATS-Creuers Cruise Services. This addition and the Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront are expected to grow the leisure cruise sector in Singapore.
Second Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran said that cruise passenger numbers are expected to hit 1.5 million in three to five years.
Passenger numbers reached close to one million last year.
Costing about S$500 million, the 28,000 square metres Marina Bay Cruise Centre can handle about 6,800 passengers at any one time.
The arrival and departure halls will comprise 80 check-in counters and up to 40 immigration counters. Also about six shops are expected to be set up which include food and beverage and convenience stores.
Other facilities include 25 coach bays, 327 carpark lots and convenient road access with provisions made for future walkway linkages to MRT stations, the waterfront promenade and the park.
The cruise centre at Marina South will double Singapore's berthing capacity and will cater to the world's largest cruise ships.

Garden by the bay @ Marina South
Gardens by the Bay is a national garden for local residents to enjoy in the heart of Singapore's downtown. The soon-to-be-opened Gardens by the Bay is the first major publicly funded attraction to levy differing entry fees on local residents and foreigners. In designing the Gardens, board public feedback on what they wanted in a national garden, and worked hard to make it accessible to all. This is the reason for offering a lower admission rate, discounts and concessions, and annual passes for local residents. ST date 2012.4.6 .

Tebing Lane @ Punggol
A spot of indoor fishing and prawning, a game of futsal or pool, and when all that is done, to tuck in at the clutch of food and beverage outlets there. Restaurants there range from fast-food chain Popeyes to seafood, and there is also a Japanese restaurant and a bistro on the banks of the Serangoon River. ST date 2012.3.13 .

Must go place when in Singapore
RSAF Museum
The RSAF maintains the Air Force Museum, which was first located at Changi Air Base before it was relocated to a purpose-built building currently situated along Airport Road adjacent to Paya Lebar Air Base. The museum is open to the public and showcases the air force's history and capabilities.

Tom's Citizoom Mee Pok Tar
Tom tries to innovate is the addition of crumbled fish crackers which he sprinkles on top of the noodles just before serving. I have my reservations about this. I think the idea of adding that crunchy texture is good, but I didn't think that the fish crackers blended well enough with the noodles. A few slivers of crispy fried Ti Poh (Dried Sole Fish) would have been a more traditional and time tested way to go. Facebook dated 2012.04.20
