Bridge of Sighs (Cambridge)
The Bridge of Sighs in Cambridge is a covered bridge at St John's College, Cambridge University. It was built in 1831 and crosses the River Cam between the college's Third Court and New Court. The architect was Henry Hutchinson.[1][2]
It is named after the Bridge of Sighs in Venice,[3] although they have little architecturally in common beyond the fact that they are both covered. The bridge, a Grade I listed building,[2] is one of Cambridge's main tourist attractions and Queen Victoria is said to have loved it more than any other spot in the city.[4]
A common myth states that it was the students who named this bridge "bridge of sighs," as the context of its existing within the college grounds means that the "sighs" are those of pre-exam students. This belief probably has much to do with the function of the bridge—linking two quadrangles of St John's College together in a covered path, as opposed to Kitchen Bridge, which is an open-air bridge. Students are rumoured for their sighs on proceeding from their quarters on the Backs to the tutors' offices in the main college quadrangle.
On two separate occasions, students have pulled the prank of dangling a car under the bridge. In the first incident (in June 1963), a 1928 Austin 7 was punted down the river using four punts that had been lashed together, then hoisted up under the bridge using ropes.[5] The second incident (in 1968) a Bond or Reliant Regal three-wheeler car was dangled under the bridge.[citation needed] In neither case was the bridge damaged.
The bridge was apparently a favourite spot of former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, having photos taken there when he was a student, in 1974 and 2000

The 2.8km Singapore River Walk

The 2.8km Singapore River Walk, which takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete, stretches from Collyer Quay to Robertson Quay. It covers historic buildings, places of worship and bridges.

Those who walk along the route - which replaces the Singapore River Trail launched by NHB in 2005 - can learn about the river's story through 14 "heritage markers", plaques detailing the history of each site. Seven are new - including those featuring the former clinic and the Masjid Omar Kampong Melaka, Singapore's oldest mosque and place of worship established in 1820.

Mr Tan Boon Hui, NHB's assistant chief executive of museums and programmes, said the revitalised trail focuses on the river and its evolution, unlike the previous trail which offered a broader storyline of Singapore's development. "We hope the enhanced trail will reveal lesser known facts of the river and enable a renewed appreciation of its vital role over the years," he said.

Singapore to Taiwan dollar - Year 2005 to 2015

The exchange rate has saw a drastic change after year 2005. Days gone when you can get S$50 for a one thousand dollar NT$ bill. Now you get only about S$43 dollar for every NT$1000.
Luckily, the exchange rate drop slightly during Year 2015 to about 1:23. Else, it is stressful to spend money back in Singapore.

Meeting trip to Barcelona, Spain - Flying on May 10, 2015

Make the trip on the very evening on May 10, 2015 taking for the first time on Turkish Airline. Transit point is Istanbul, experience the crossing points of East and West, saw people of many dresscode. Well the design of the Turkey airport is compact and pretty conjested, thus, all boarding is on the Airprane. Taking the luggages up the stairway is taxing.

Coffee time with Mr,Boh - So thankful that he always us for a simple coffee break. It makes the days in a foreign more brighter.
