Visiting Hawaii for the first time, only to realised its a group of island and Honolulu being on Oahu where the airplane landed. This island is where famous Wakiki beaches is located. Why Surf is so popular? simply the beaches is just to the city line and also where hotels with thousand of rooms filled the coastline. You cannot find 7-11 stores along Wakiki but it seem "conquested" by another chain ABC stores, known to have 56 stores in Wakiki area. Funny you can't find any outside the city, just only 7-11 stores. Guess they have demarcation of business areas.
Took the bus number 23 and stopped beneath the Diamond Head Volcano mountain. Look like they have drilled a tunnel through the volcano wall. Once you walk through the tunnel, one is actually inside the crater of the volcano. After paying the US$1 entrance fee, you head up the trail to the peak overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, I met two family groups from Taiwan too.
Reaching the peak, I came to realised it is actually a war emplacement with dug-in fortification, though no guns or artillery equipments.
The view overlooking Wakiki joining the Pacific Ocean is just fantastic with clear sky all round. Not forgetting to covered myself against sunburn.

The Sunset at Hawaii is great. Sit down by the beaches and enjoy the quiet moment when it goes down the horizon. Coconut in the foreground always. Funny there isn't obvious coconut drink stores around.
