High Tea at Art Center 2023/7/16

Two of us spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon with GLE at ShiLin Performance Art center just beside JianTang mrt station. It’s 7th floor has an ACME restaurant outlet, which has full glass wall overlooking beautiful Mountain View. Chair is comfortable, ceiling is high and it feels spacious. Unfortunately, only realised few days later that we have most likely left a new power bank. Restaurant said, they found none power bank after we enquired.

Megan Foo in Taiwan 2023/7/9

Counted that is the fourth times Megan is here in Taiwan. Earlier being whole family trip (Dick, LayHoon, Mavis & Megan), remembering bringing the whole gang to 六福村 amusement park. Still have the video seeing both taking a pony ride. The previous trip when they tour japan and drop by Taiwan (Dick and Megan), sill has the photo taken at 淡水漁人碼頭。

July 2023 is special where Megan came with her best friend Anissa Chan Yan Wen and roam around Taipei city on their own. I got them each a travel card 都會通 for east travelling. Surprisingly, both can accept stingy tofu, especially Anissa who tried many version of stingy tofu. Invited Theo our house for quick using Panda delivery and thereafter brought them to YuanShan hotel.

Meet up with QiaoLing 2023/6/24

QiaoLing family lives at TaiChung city, she mentioned coming over to Taipei this weekend. Asked whether I would like to meet them at Suzzanne place for lunch. Constance said she can join. Meet a new SG friend Dherese in person after so long on Facebook, who also has two beautiful kids. QiaoLing daughter has grown tall and lovely, since we last meet at Ellen place.

Had HorFun with chili today, pretty good by Suzzanne.

端午節到葆哥家作客2023/6/23

Went to 永何緬甸街 for DimSum lunch with BG and Constance. BG brought chicken meat on the way while crossing fresh foods market for making curry at dinner. Followed by visit to their mountain top house. Janny Koh and husband join us thereafter for dinner and chat till 9.30pm late. Thanks Constance for making lemon drink and BG for brewing our favorite Kopi. Heavy rains today too, beautiful weather and temperature to be up in the mountain.

Meet up with Jeslyn Chua in June 14-15

“Just Do it”, Jeslyn Chua and myself met up for lunch at NanGang software park, SinLuckPo 食樂玻。It’s down memory lane as Jeslyn last work here. Lunch time a busy place at the ground level lobby area with many passar-malam store, including SinLuckPo. Both of us ordered BarChorMee as such is not available in Taiwan. Therefore, we went to NeiHu station’s shopping mall for coffee at Lousia.

Good chat till 5pm. Ask why not go for dinner? Went to 中山 station and ends at Yabi, saw Yabi restaurant while crossing the roadway. Nice Asian foods, almost like eating in Singapore. We ordered set meal for two with extra order of CharKwayTiao.

The reason for meeting up the day 6/16 because I left the fruits at NeiHu shopping mall toilet. Met at Sa Malaysian Kitchen, DaAn. Jeslyn order 叉燒乾麵 and I ordered Nasi-Lemak. Went to nearby dessert store where we met a bunch of unfriendly Singaporean.

Thursday Fulung outing 2023/5/25

Rain has been falling for last two days before this trip. However, weather report said it’s sunny sky in Fuzlong, we do hope so. Visited ShiDing suspension bridge and a Matt sugar maker on the way. Went to 福隆帆船俱樂部, meet an old friend and have a chat on the current situation of the sailing club. The ladies like the air-con starbuck restuarant facing the ocean, a good cup of comfort coffee just after seafood lunch at 富士海鮮. Return trip driving along the coastline is cozy and pit stop for tea break sitting comfortably facing the ocean.

0910hrs - 開車走石碇-》平溪-〉貢寮-》福隆。沿路景點看看走走。

石碇吊橋
五號高數公路，下方⬇️平行的步道走走半小時。
草嶺古道登山口看看。

1100hrs - 到福隆飯店，到二樓的餐廳喝茶看風景聊是非。

Reached 60s, $5 SIMBA Mobile plan - 2023/5/10

Thank you SG Tea-House friend, BanSai for recommending SG Mobile phone operator “SIMBA”. They have mobile plan for senior who is 60s and above, at S$5 fee per 30days. The internet is workable at selected countries, which includes Taiwan, fortunately. Applied after crossing 2023/5/10 birthday mark.

The only issue is about shipping SIM card from my NRIC’s official address. Ask my tenant Misa to post it to Taiwan Jenny’s office address and deduct postage fee from next rental payment.

The true is, digital transformation in payment has turnaround during covid period. Simply one cannot survive without mobile apps, which required internet access on mobile phone.

Status as of

2023/5/21 - need two weeks for delivery to SG address.

2023/6/28 - second application package still have not arrive after checking with tenant Misa.

BG/Constance 伴山別墅House Warming 2023/5/21

Thanks Constance inviting us to their new home in XinDian and taking effort to book karaoke room with abundance foods and SG Kopi waiting for us. All attended has a good time singing along and eating away with entertainment coupled with younger generation running around this spacious karaoke room. YuXian/Ben and ShizJia family join the gang with their baby girl in towed.

Bring in ShiJia family to join this group of friends as her daughter is growing up and much mobile stage already. Sarah also tag along with sunny to join the party for the first time.

New knowledge : Great to meet Ben family again, after our first contact during NTU alumni outing tour. Ben brought this cocktail that can be added to coffee, thus, bringing up the taste buds.
